Vacancy: Information officer / InfoNTD-coordinator

Netherlands Leprosy Relief (NLR) is an international NGO that since 1967 has been dedicated to eliminate leprosy, a disease with more than 200,000 new patients worldwide on a yearly basis. We focus on early detection, preventive treatment to break the chain of transmission, prevention of disability, and full inclusion of persons affected by leprosy in society. We collaborate with local organizations and governments. NLR enjoys the support of many donors, partners and sponsors. Where relevant, the work is done in the broader context of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).

To bring the broader context of the work of NLR under the attention, we’ve built an information platform about cross cutting issues in NTDs: “InfoNTD”. InfoNTD focuses on integral approaches of 16 NTDs and related public health problems. The focus is not on medical symptoms, but rather on aspects common to many NTDs, like treatment aspects, assessment, and social, economic and human rights issues. The cross-cutting aspects include subjects like disability, community-based and other forms of rehabilitation, advocacy and empowerment, as well as ways of prevention, like WASH-related interventions. InfoNTD is coordinated by an information officer. Because our information officer is leaving our organisation, we are looking for a
